Pakistan Cricket, Fawad Alam End Career Minor League Move To USA

Fawad Alam, has pulled back the curtain on his 15-year career for Pakistan in the Minor League Cricket T20 competition.
Fawad is expected to represent the Chicago Kingsmen in the T20 tournament as a homegrown player.
His move to the United States would also open the door for him to compete in Major League Soccer (MLC) cricket in the future.
Fawad is not the first Pakistani player to make a decision. Many players from within the country including Sami Aslam, Hammad Azzam, Mohamed Mohsen, Saif Badr and others have moved to the US in search of better opportunities.
Fawad’s international career began with Pakistan in the game’s ODI format. He played against Sri Lanka in May 2007 in Abu Dhabi and also made his T20I debut against Kenya in Nairobi on 4 September 2007.
His Test debut comes two years after Pakistan played Sri Lanka at the P Sara Oval in Colombo in July. With great hitters like Muhammad Yusuf (Original), Azhar Ali, Younis Khan and Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq middleweight in the Test, Fawad’s chances are few and far between.
He played 19 Tests for Pakistan and scored 1011 runs at an average of 38.88, covering 5 centuries and half centuries. He had more chances in pool balls with more matches in ODI cricket.
In 38 ODIs for Pakistan, Southpaw hit 966 runs at an average of 40.25 with the help of a century and a half.
The 37-year-old also had a few chances during the T20I to ply his trade but was only able to amass 194 executions at an execution rate of 114.79.
The continued migration of players to the United States could be a serious problem for Pakistan in the future.
