2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup : Why Lauren James Stamped On Alozie – Wiegman

England Lionesses manager in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Sarina Wegman has claimed Lauren James’ reckless behavior towards Nigeria’s Michelle Alouzi was due to fatigue rather than malice.
James received a red card for violent behavior during Lioness’ narrow round of 16 victory. This meant that Wiegman’s side were left to play with just 10 men for the duration of extra time, before winning 4-2 on penalties.
Wegman defended the Chelsea striker, describing it as a “very unfortunate” incident.
“She’s young and she’s just a sign, she doesn’t want to hurt anyone. The game comes later, so she gets a little tired too.
“It was such an intense and emotional match that in a split second when you couldn’t control your emotions, everything happened.
Of course she didn’t want to do that, but before she knew it it happened. very sad. “She will definitely learn from him,” Wegman said.
