American rapper Jay-Z is said to be preparing a bid to take over Tottenham Hotspur after owner Joe Louis was accused of insider trading.

US prosecutors have accused Tottenham owner Lewis of running an insider trading scheme and, if found guilty, would be forced to relinquish ownership of the club under Premier League rules.

Against this backdrop, The Mirror reported that Jay-Z was waiting backstage to make his entrance.

The American rapper has expressed interest in investing in a Premier League club.

Speaking in 2010, he said: “I don’t know much about the world of football, but in the future, if the right opportunity arises, who knows?

However, this concern was believed at the time to be Tottenham’s arch-rivals Arsenal, who had previously revealed their loyalty to Arsenal when it came to football.
