Naoya Inoue Gets New Opponent Planned For November Undisputed 122-Lb Clash

The undisputed super bantamweight title bout between unified champion Naoya Inoue and Marlon Tabales is being planned for November.

ESPN reported that Inoue-Tapales could come in 4 months, which isn’t a lot of time, but given the way Inoue fights, he doesn’t need more than that. Tabales won the IBF and IBF 122-pound titles last April, defeating champion Morugon Akhmadaliyev by a twelve-round split decision.

Last night, Inoue (25-0, 22 KOs) won the WBC and WBO belts at 122 lbs, stopping champ Stephen Fulton (21-1, 8 KOs) in the round of 16 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Fulton, who until last night was considered by many fans as the #1 super bantamweight, was eliminated twice in the round of 16 before the bout was stopped. Steven doesn’t have the strength to punch Inoue to keep him honest, and his stab is lacking.

Tapales (37-3, 19 KOs) should have been a step down from Fulton for Inoue, but that has nothing to do with it.

The reason for Eno’s fight with the 31-year-old Tabales wasn’t for him to fight to the best of his ability.

To capture his title for IBF & WBA Super Bantamkg so that he could sing to become an indisputable hero on weights.

If INOUE wants to face someone who will examine it and may lose it, then one of these people will fight:

– Robeisy Ramirez
– Vasily Lomachenko
– Shakur Stevenson
– Gervonta Davis

These men are likely to be very far from INOUE. The only person in this group who might stand a chance of hitting is Robeisy, but that’s also unlikely, since Cuban has strength, skill, and chin and won’t be afraid to walk through fire.
