Alexander Zverev Faces New Assault Allegation After Penalty Order Reportedly Sought In Berlin

On January 31, Alexander Zverev said “justice has been served” after the ATP ended its investigation into allegations of domestic violence 27 months after his ex-girlfriend Oella Sharipova pressed charges against him saying that “we don’t have enough evidence to support them.”
On Wednesday, it was reported that Zverev is now facing a second assault charge by another ex-partner, Brenda Batia, who is also the mother of their daughter, Mayella.
According to RTL, the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office is seeking sanctions against the two-time ATP Finals champion for alleged bodily harm. If the court decides to issue the order, Zverev will have two weeks to appeal. This process does not involve testing.
An appeal against the penalty order can be lodged within two weeks, until then the presumption of innocence applies for A. Zverev.
